A bit about William Krame

The son of Holocaust survivors who emigrated from Poland to the United States, Bill was born in Paterson, NJ and grew up in Fair Lawn, NJ.

Cobbling together funds from various sources, Bill attended the University of Florida his freshman year, and despite having to work two jobs to pay his way through college, Bill graduated magna cum laude with a dual degree in International Business and Marketing from Northeastern University in Boston, MA.

Having received numerous lucrative job offers upon graduation from Fortune 100 companies, Mr. Krame’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to pursue a career in Commercial Real Estate; where, he secured a position with the premier Commercial Real Estate brokerage company at that time (Coldwell Banker, now CBRE).

Mr. Krame was fortunate enough to work under the tutelage of one of the top five producing brokers in the country and after spending two formative and successful years in commercial brokerage, he was recruited as Director of Acquisitions for one of the most active real estate developers in Northern New Jersey. Proving his worth, Bill quickly became a junior partner within the organization. Creative and philosophical differences led Bill to found the Krame Development Company, Inc. in 1987.

WORDS TO LIVE BY

“The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”

With big ambitions yet limited financial means, Mr. Krame began a long but tumultuous journey in the field of commercial real estate development. Successfully convincing more established and well-known organizations to partner with him, he has been involved as the Managing Partner in some of the most innovative and creative repurposing of underutilized land sites and/or buildings throughout New Jersey.

Throughout his professional career, Bill never lost sight of the need for work-life balance and has been married to his wife Catherine for over 33 years and is the proud father of two adult daughters. Having accomplished his professional objectives, Bill set his sights on his true passion: philanthropy and disseminating the benefits of contemplative practices such as Mindfulness, Self-Compassion, and Positive Psychology. As a Type-A personality, Bill has benefitted greatly from a daily Mindfulness and Meditation Practice over the past 22+ years and felt compelled to share these transformative practices with others.

To further this objective, Mr. Krame founded The Krame Center at Ramapo College of New Jersey. After a rewarding 5+ year affiliation, Mr. Krame moved-on from the college to co-found the Krame Center for Mindful Living in Ramsey, NJ, a 501(c)-3 nonprofit organization, offering mindfulness resources such as free weekly meditations, an 8-week MBSR Program, and an 8-week MSC Program. The Krame Center for Mindful Living, and its affiliates, designs and delivers custom, evidence-based programs in collaboration with the foremost experts in the field of mental and emotional wellbeing.

While still active in Real Estate Development, Bill spends the majority of his time working alongside his wife and two daughters through The Krame Center for Mindful Living, Mindful Awareness Practices, and U-Thrive Educational Services.

Bill’s mission has always been and continues to be
to effectuate positive change in the world, one person at a time.
